FAQs
Is latex swimwear suitable for regular swimming in chlorinated pools?
No. Chlorine is highly corrosive to latex and will cause the material to degrade, become brittle, and lose its elasticity quickly. Latex swimwear is best reserved for short periods, photo shoots, or clean fresh water/salt water only.
How should I put on latex swimwear when I'm already wet or at the pool?
Use water as a lubricant. If you are already wet, you can use a few drops of silicone lubricant mixed with water to create a thin, slippery film. Do not use tanning oils or sunscreens as a dressing aid, as they will permanently damage the latex.
What is the most important step for cleaning and drying latex swimwear after use?
Immediate, thorough rinsing. Immediately after exposure to water (especially chlorinated or salt water), hand wash the item with a latex cleaner and lukewarm water. Squeeze out excess water, then air dry completely inside out first, and then right side out, in a cool, dark place.
How can I prevent the colors from running or transferring when the suit is wet?
Avoid contact between different colors. When wet, dark or bright latex colors (especially red and black) can bleed onto light colors. Never store or lay wet, contrasting-colored latex pieces next to each other, even briefly.
