FAQs
Do latex jackets require a dressing aid (lubricant) since they are open in the front?
For the torso, no. Since jackets open fully via a front zipper, the torso does not require lubrication. However, you must apply a dressing aid (silicone lube or talcum) to the inside of the sleeves to ensure your arms and hands slide in without sticking or stressing the cuffs.
How should I protect the latex from the metal zippers and snaps when storing?
Use a protective barrier. Wrap all metal hardware (zippers, snaps, buckles) with acid-free tissue paper before storing the jacket. This prevents the metal from causing irreversible chemical stains or discoloration on the latex when it's kept in the dark.
Are these garments suitable for wearing over other latex tops or clothing?
Yes, but you must ensure the exterior latex (the jacket lining) is heavily dusted with talcum powder where it meets the interior garment (the top). This will reduce friction, prevent sticking, and make the jacket much easier to put on and take off.
How important is the shoulder and arm length when sizing a latex coat?
Very important. If the sleeves are too short, they will pull on the shoulders and restrict movement. If the sleeves are too long, the excess material will bunch and crease at the elbows. Always compare your shoulder width and arm length to the sizing chart.
